The government's plans for a significant expansion of educational opportunities are underway. As part of the forward-looking initiative named 'Dubai Education,' the emirate is preparing to create over 6,400 additional school seats, 295 new classrooms, and another school, leading to a total increase in available educational spaces to 15,000 by 2033. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, has approved a budget of AED 530 million for this project.

The 'Dubai Education' project aligns with the overall framework of the social program Dubai Social Agenda 33, aimed at enhancing the quality of education in Dubai and positioning the city among the top 10 educational centers globally.

  • In the schools built within the project, representatives of 38 different nationalities are currently studying, with a total of 2,580 students. The project's goal is to establish a world-class education system in the emirate, focusing on increasing the number of schools and educational spaces, investing in innovative technologies, and promoting innovation and creativity in classrooms.

"Our goal is to make the education system in Dubai innovative, capable of nurturing the potential of future leaders," said Sheikh Hamdan. As part of the project, a new school is being constructed in the Al Khawaneej area, and the Dubai Schools Al Barsha branch is currently expanding.

  • The new institution in Al Khawaneej, covering a total area of 446,720 square feet, is designed for 4,028 students from preschool to the 12th grade. Built in accordance with international standards, the educational facility offers 149 classrooms, 71 laboratories, and specialized classes equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
  • The expansion of the Al Barsha branch will increase its capacity by adding 2,408 seats in 98 new classrooms, resulting in a total capacity of 3,520 students after the completion of construction.

The Knowledge Fund and the Dubai Municipality have announced that the projects have reached 50% completion, with both projects expected to be completed by the academic year 2024/2025."
